Thousands of people are still in the dark after a monster rainstorm packed a wallop of a punch across the Valley Saturday.  APS Spokesman Steven Gottfried says at the height of the storm, up to 50 to 60 thousand people lost power.  It’s been 24 hours since the storm hit and Gottfried says eleven-

thousand people are still without power.  He warns the damage to power lines and transformers were so extensive in some parts of the Valley that a handful of APS customers should expect to wait a couple of days before they are back on line.  SRP Spokeswoman Patty Garcia-Likens says more than 40-thousand Salt River Project customers lost power when the storm hit.  She says a majority of the people are back online, excluding some 800 customers.  She predicts power will return within a day.
