An armed man threatening to commit “suicide by cop” has been arrested after a stand-off with authorities.  Spokesman Jim Knupp with the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office says it all started with a 9-1-1 call about an individual firing off a gun at a home in Gold Canyon.  When deputies responded, the home was fully engulfed

in flames and the homeowner, 47-year-old Kent Johnson, was seen leaving the area with two handguns and one rifle.  Johnson was located a short time later and threatened to commit “suicide-by-cop.”  After an hour-long standoff with SWAT teams, Jonson was taken into custody.  No one was inside the home at the time of the fire.  The investigation is ongoing.
