The football field at Arizona Cardinal’s stadium gets a final grooming before two big games: the Pro Bowl next Sunday and the Super Bowl February first. The N-F-L’s Field Director Ed Mangan it’s the culmination of a process
that began at an Alabama farm a year and a half, starting with a seed, and flourishing into the lush turf that’s now football ready.
The 92-thousand square foot field, now located outside the stadium, will roll in on tracks, a process Mangan says should take about 40 minutes. But once it rolls in Friday, it will be outdoors just one more time before the Super Bowl.
Mangan notes the bed of Bermuda grass will be experiencing more action than just the two high-profile games: it will also be getting its share of wear and tear for the Super Bowl Half-Time show, among other activities.
