unnamed (23) Lake Havasu City, AZ – Supervisor Buster Johnson was asked by Governor-Elect Doug Ducey to serve on his Transition Team as a member of the subcommittee for Local Government and Transportation.  “It was an honor to be asked to serve on this committee,” Johnson stated.  The mission of the subcommittee is to ensure a smooth transition between administrations that will keep local and state government working together efficiently and effectively.   “As a member, one of my responsibilities will be to help to recruit and evaluate potential candidates for the director of the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT),” Johnson continued. Aside from helping to pick the next ADOT director, as a member of the subcommittee Johnson will also receive and study relevant agency transition reports as well as identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the state government.  “With Arizona facing a million dollar deficit next year, it’s important that the new administration understand the importance of key county issues such as the Highway User Revenue Fund (HURF),” Johnson said.  In recent years, state legislators have swept over $5.9 million from Mohave County’s HURF fund to balance the state budget.  A partial restoration was restored last fiscal year.  For more information on Governor-Elect Ducey’s Transition Team, please visit:http://2015azgtc.com/
