Human Services Director Susan Betts is retiring after more than three decades of service in Bullhead City. City Manager Toby Cotter paid tribute to Betts during the June 6 Council meeting.
“After 32 years I think its very appropriate that as a community we thank her for all of her efforts,” Cotter said. He said Betts’ distinguished career is highlighted by a checklist of awards and honors and for bringing in hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants.
“I don’t know how yo can put a capstone on 32 years of service but it’s been my privilege to work here for a community with such great professionals,” Betts said. “You really have a very good team here and I know that I am leaving it (the city) in good hands.”
Betts was presented a retirement gift in the form of a vase that has been signed by a number of her co-workers.
