It appears drug-use was a factor that led to an officer-invovled shooting this weekend.  According to Sergeant Trent Crump with Phoenix police, a 31-year-old woman was attacked by her husband who had been high on meth.  The 30-year-old suspect grabbed his semi-automatic handgun and threatened to kill his

wife in front his their three children, between the ages of four and ten.  The mother managed to break free from the attack and ran to a neighbors house with her three kids in tow. When police showed up to the home, an officer spotted the suspect in the backyard still armed with a gun.  Police say the suspect pointed his gun at the officer and the officer shot several rounds at the suspect.  The suspect was struck twice and sustained nonlife-threatening injuries.  The suspect is facing arrest once he is released from the hospital.
