The four way
race for Arizona Governor unfolds on public T.V. Monday night in a spirited
debate. Republican Doug Ducey and
Democrat Fred Du Val cite their
supporters who’ve crossed party lines for them. But when it came down to
issues, it was back to party base. Du Val’s
for Medicaid expansion. Ducey isn’t. Du Val would lift the dreamer’s license
ban. Ducey says he supports the Governor’s
executive order. Both denounce dark
money ads, but accuse each other of hypocrisy, both claiming the other man has
had his finger in the pot of anonymous influences.
Independent
John Mealer wants to legalize pot and tax it. And Libertarian Barry Hess advocates
visitor’s passes to combat illegal immigration. But both complain the two party system is
drowning out their ideas because of what Hess calls, the “arrogance” of
Democrats and Republicans.
