Hidden talents of Mohave High School teachers, staff members and parents will be in the spotlight Wednesday (May 3) during a talent show fundraiser.  The program begins at 7:00 pm in the Mohave High auditorium.  Tickets are $5 general admission at the door.

Proceeds will benefit the Mohave drama department and will be used for future costumes, sets, props and show royalties.

Performances already include singing, musical instruments, a magician and a rifle demonstration by the Mohave Air Force Junior ROTC.  Drama teacher Lori Garner said that a “surprise entertainer” is possible.  Some Mohave students may perform during the talent show, but only if part of an act with a parent or faculty member.

Garner is also lining up acts from current and former Mohave students for “Under The Lights,” another benefit performance on May 17.  Those alumni and students will be performing songs from their favorite Broadway shows.

Among those expected to perform is graduating senior Andrew Snider, who had leads in Mohave musicals as Tevye in “Fiddler on the Roof” and Uncle Fester in “Addams Family.”   Juniors Esther Evins, Raymond Schmidt and Daniel Vega (Yenta/Fruma Sarah, Fyedka and Lazar Wolf in “Fiddler”) are also scheduled to perform.  Each has also appeared in non-musical dramatic roles.

Several returning alumni are expected to perform.  Garner encouraged former drama students who have moved on to college or other careers to join the May 17 event.
