Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested William Eugene Brown, 48, of Kingman, early Wednesday (12/24) morning for tampering with physical evidence, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies. Approximately 2:05 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Mallard Drive and Martin Lane. Deputies contacted Brown, the driver, and requested him to exit the vehicle. Deputies observed Brown place a small clear plastic bag on the driver’s seat as he exited. Deputies observed a white crystal substance inside the bag. Deputies questioned Brown and he immediately grabbed the bag placing it into his mouth. As deputies approached Brown, he spit the bag out onto the ground. During a brief struggle, Brown was taken into custody. Deputies retrieved the plastic bag from the ground and observed white residue. Deputies located several crystals inside a plastic bag on the driver’s floorboard. Medical responded and Brown was medically cleared. A records check showed Brown to have a suspended driver’s license out of Tennessee. Brown was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without further incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
