A teenager was killed in a Saturday collision on the Colorado River in Bullhead City. A boat collided with a personal watercraft in the area of Davis Camp at 12:37 p.m.
A 13-year-old girl and an eight-year-old girl were passengers on the personal watercraft operated by Monica Garcia, 46, Colton, California, according to Carina Spotts, acting public information officer for the Bullhead City police department. Spotts said the teenager whose name is withheld suffered head trauma and died following transport to Western Arizona Medical Center (WARMC).
Spotts said the younger girl was treated at WARMC for hand and arm fractures and a laceration. She said Garcia was flown to a Las Vegas hospital for treatment of a collapsed lung and arm fracture.
Spotts said the driver of the 20′ ski boat that struck the watercraft, Kevin Morgan, 42, Long Beach, California, was arrested for operating a boat while intoxicated.
