A 15-year-old boy nearly drowns while holding his breath underwater. Fire Captain Ardell Deliz with Phoenix Fire says the teen was seeing how long he could hold his breath underwater.   Deliz says his father was watching his son go under and emerge from underwater several times.  After some time passed, the boy didn’t

resurface on his own and the teen’s father raced to pull him out of the pool.  Firefighters arrived and gave the teen CPR and managed to get him breathing.  The teen was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.  Deliz says the teen was responding to some commands from the firefighters which is “a good sign.”
