Drowning News ImageBULLHEAD CITY–A Texas man drowned Tuesday afternoon in the Colorado River near Rio Lomas Beach in Bullhead City.

Emily Fromelt, spokeswoman for Bullhead City Police, said boating officers were notified shortly before noon of a drowning just north of Rio Lomas beach and arrived to find paramedics attempting to revive Robert Herd Warren, 66, of Sherman, Texas.

Medical personnel informed police the man had since passed.

Witnesses told police they were riding their personal watercrafts on the river when they saw a man floating with a life jacket in the river, said Fromelt.

“They pulled him (Warren) to shore, called 911, and administered CPR until paramedics arrived and took over,” said Fromelt.

Fromelt said Warren’s wife told police they had rented jet skis and had gotten stuck in a shallow/rocky part of the river.

“She was able to get her jetski out and rode back to the jetski rental place for help,” said Fromelt. “Her husband told her that if he got tired, he would swim to shore and wait.”

The exact cause of death is under investigation and autopsy results are pending.
