The Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce reluctantly announced the resignation of its Executive Director, Chris Barton, effective November 13, 2015. Barton joined the Bullhead Area Chamber in November, 2010, after being recruited from her home state of North Dakota.
Chairperson of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Annette Wegmann, said “Chris led the Chamber through significant change over the past five years and has been pivotal in what the Chamber has achieved. She will be sorely missed, but we are thankful she and her family plan to remain in the Bullhead area.” Barton is leaving the Chamber to accept her new role at Fox Creek Junior High.
During Barton’s tenure, The Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce experienced significant growth in new membership; membership retention and member engagement. Barton also implemented a variety of innovative programs such as the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, several networking and fundraising events and was an advocate in promoting the Bullhead Area to visitors and residents. Under her leadership, the Chamber’s Ambassadors Committee was reactivated and grown into a group of over 30 dynamic individuals focused on welcoming new businesses to the area, as well as presenting the Chamber’s signature annual event “A Taste of Bullhead”. Wegmann said “The Board of Directors will immediately begin recruiting for a new Chamber Executive Director. Until the position is filled, the Chamber’s Office Manager, other staff members and members of the Board of Directors will assist in daily operations”.
