Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Lawrence Rocha, 19, Fresno, CA., late Monday (2/2) morning for theft, a misdemeanor. Approximately 11:21 a.m., deputies responded to a theft report at a residence in the 5600 block of Pearl Street. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the reporting party, a 60-year-old female victim. The victim said that Rocha, her stepson, was visiting them from California. The victim further said that they got into a family argument. The victim reported during the argument that Rocha packed his belongings and left the residence. The victim further reported that she believes Rocha took her cell phone as it is missing. Shortly thereafter, deputies located Rocha at the intersection of Joy Lane and Highway 95. Deputies contacted Rocha about the missing cell phone. Rocha advised that he only had his cell phone which Rocha showed the deputy. A consent search of Rocha revealed the missing cellular phone. Rocha was taken into custody without incident. During conversations with Rocha, he said he took the phone out of anger. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
