Same Highway 95 location with a new name! “It’s a new venture for our Club and we have nothing but positive things to say about this store and the direction we are taking with it,” Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River President & CEO Teri Tomlinson said regarding the Boys & Girls Club Thrift & Gift in Bullhead City. “The store actually became available after months of conversations between myself and Karen Morris. It seemed a perfect fit, so with the approval of our board of directors we moved ahead full steam. We are very grateful to Karen Morris and the We Care Cancer Support team for this wonderful opportunity.” Tomlinson says the store will offer “what you would expect at a thrift store,” with a couple of variations. For example, Club Kid-designed Christmas cards will be offered inside the store, along with handmade Post-It holders that could also serve as stocking stuffers. And the store will be selling See’s Candy starting on December 1, with 100-percent of store proceeds benefiting programs at the Boys & Girls Club. “We were actually looking to create increased sustainability for our Fort Mohave Transportation Plan, which pays for the buses that bring our Fort Mohave members to the Bullhead City branch,” Tomlinson added. “So basically, assuming management of the store fell right into place with that strategy.” The store has a grand opening and ribbon cutting planned for Wednesday, October 1, at 9:00 am and the public is invited. For donations or pick-up of large items, call (928) 704-8797. All items will be accepted, with the exception of “old style” TVs and computer monitors, and no mattresses of any kind. The store is located at 2715 Highway 95 in Bullhead City. Store hours will be Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm, Saturdays from 9am – 2pm.
