The death of a child last summer has evolved into a plea agreement for a Kingman man. Cory Williams, 26, is being prosecuted for the death last August of his girlfriend’s son, three-year-old Trent Stotser.
The boy was rushed to Kingman Regional Medical Center on August 6 and flown to a Las Vegas hospital where he died two days later. The medical examiner concluded that Stotser died of a blunt force trauma head injury.
Terms of the plea agreement entered March 23 involve dismissal of two child abuse charges in exchange for a manslaughter conviction. Williams faces probation up to 12.5-years in prison when sentenced April 22 by Mohave County Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen.
