The second Desert Clean Up, coordinated through a joint effort of the City of Bullhead City, Arizona Game & Fish, Bureau of Land Management, Mohave County’s ERASE program, and sponsored by Golden Vertex Corp, of Bullhead City was called a success by all participants.
Nearly 15 ½ tons of garbage was removed by 65 volunteers last Wednesday in a joint effort of private companies and public entities working together to better our community.
“This is just one more example of great things that can happen when government partners with the private sector,” said Bullhead City Manager Toby Cotter. “We’re looking forward to the next Desert Clean Up tentatively scheduled for October, 2017.”
Golden Vertex Corp, the company that is re-activating the Moss Mine Project off Silver Creek Road, approximately 6 miles east of the Parkway chose to step up as a sponsor of the event this year.
“We’re pleased to have been able to participate in the project this year” said Joe Bardswich, General Manager, Golden Vertex Corp. “We often have visitors from all parts of the world and the trash left behind is a poor reflection on our project as well as our community.”
Other private companies that provided tools, equipment, and volunteers included Republic Services; Tri R Construction; N.A. Degerstrom; M-3 Engineering and the Aquarius Casino Resort. Several off-road organizations participated in a big way, including the Bullhead 4-Wheelers and many others.
The number of out of state license plates on cars parked along Silver Creek Rd was noted by Joe Bardswich of Golden Vertex Corp.
“It’s really nice to see our visitors work alongside our residents to make the community a better place.”
