The City of Kingman Park and Recreation Department was awarded the James Farrell Amateur Softball Association Award of Excellence for hosting one of the highest rated tournaments in 2016, the ASA Girl’s Class B 12 U Western National.
At the February 21st meeting of the City of Kingman Common Council are the department was recognized; accepting the award from Mayor Monica Gates are Recreation Coordinator Ryan Fruhwirth, Park Superintendent Guy Reynolds, Administrative Assistant Jennifer Wheeler.
All three were instrumental in the success of this tournament. These three along with the Recreation staff that manned the office and the Park Maintenance Crew for awesome field conditions they provided. We are very proud of the job our department did working together on this event.
This award belongs to our entire community and the event would not have been possible without their support. The Police department provided a security presents, our Fire Departments maned the First Aid Station helping with injuries. The Kingman Softball Association were very helpful, the local restaurant’s and motels were very welcoming to the teams from out of town. The Kingman Senior Softball Team and their significant others did a great job of manning the gates; they were awesome ambassadors for the city of Kingman, answering all questions that the out of town families had and welcoming everyone.
This tournament would not have been possible without the support of event our sponsors Kingman Regional Medical Center, Canyon 66 Ramada Kingman and Anderson Ford, Lincoln. We really appreciate all that everyone did. Thank you to all of the softball fans that came out and supported the tournament.
