A man survives a horrific train accident in Tempe.  Sergeant Damon DeSpain with Tempe Police says a Union Pacific train operator called police after hitting a pedestrian in his 20’s overnight.  DeSpain says the man was on the tracks when the train severed one of his legs at the knee and took off part of his foot on the

leg.  The man was alert and able to talk to the medics who arrived on scene.  The man was transferred to a nearby hospital in critical condition.  Police are investigating the incident.
