Bullhead City Police arrested a local transient for aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument and causing disfigurement.

On Wednesday, November 2nd at about 2:40 p.m., emergency crews were called to the area of Palma Road and Palma Way for a report of a physical fight between two male transients.

When police arrived on scene, several bystanders were rendering aid to the 67-year-old male victim, Gary Eugene Roberts, who was bleeding profusely from the head.

Through further investigation, police learned that the suspect, 67-year-old John William Neal, had struck the male victim with a rock several times in his head. Several bystanders had to break up the fight. When police spoke to Neal, he appeared to be very intoxicated.

Bullhead City Fire paramedics transported Roberts to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center. He was later flown to a trauma center in Las Vegas, NV due to the severity of his injuries. He is currently listed in good condition.

Neal was arrested for aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument and aggravated assault causing disfigurement. He was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.
