Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Shanna Lee Averett, 32, of Kingman, Friday (2/27) afternoon for trespassing, felony. An on-going investigation regarding subjects trespassing at a residence in the 3200 block of Snavely Avenue led deputies to contact Averett in the 900 block of Buchanan Street. During conversations with Averett, she said that she and her husband had been staying at the residence and she knew they didn’t have a right to be there. Averett was taken into custody without incident. She was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. Averett was also cited on two counts of animal cruelty and two counts of no dog license, misdemeanors. On Wednesday (2/24) Animal Control Officer’s responded to three dogs left at a residence in the 3200 block of Snavely Avenue where squatters had been living. Two of the three dogs were in poor health as determined by a veterinarian. The dogs were impounded and transported to the Kingman Animal Shelter. The animals belonged Averett.
