Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Manuel Duarte Martinez, 22, of Golden Valley, early Wednesday (2/11) morning for possession of dangerous drugs, felony, along with trespassing and a contempt of court warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court, both misdemeanors. Approximately 3:26 a.m., deputies responded to a suspicious male subject at a residence in the 3500 block of Hoover Road. Dispatch advised that the reporting party said an unknown male subject tried to get into their residence and her daughter struck the subject in the face with a rock. Dispatch further advised that the male subject took off running and is possibly hiding nearby. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the reporting party’s daughter and her boyfriend. The reporting party’s daughter, an 18-year-old victim, said that a vehicle showed up at their residence and she walked outside and observed a male subject exit the vehicle. The victim further said that she and her boyfriend contacted the male subject, later identified as Martinez, and he said that he lives at the residence. The victim advised Martinez that he does not live there and for him to leave. The victim further advised that she grabbed a rock from the ground as she walked to the front door. The victim again told Martinez to leave the property as he walked onto the front porch. Martinez refused and said he lived there and he wanted to come in. The victim reported that Martinez took a step toward her and she smacked him in the face with the rock she was holding. The victim further reported that Martinez backed off and started running away. Martinez was described as small in height, early 20’s, wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and large boots. Deputies contacted a witness, the victim’s boyfriend. The witness confirmed the victim’s statements. The witness said that he attempted to locate the subject. Deputies searched the immediate area and located a male subject matching the description nearby. Deputies contacted the male subject identified as Martinez. A pill fell out of Martinez’s wallet as he pulled his identification out. Deputies determined the pill to be a dangerous drug. Deputies observed Martinez to have a cut to his lip. Medical responded and Martinez refused medical attention. Martinez was taken into custody without incident. A records check showed Martinez to have an arrest warrant. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
