Steven Michael Short, 27, and Ciara Alyssa Lopez, 25, both of Golden Valley, were arrested by Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday, June 17. Short was arrested on suspicion of trespassing, a felony. Lopez was arrested on a failure to appear misdemeanor warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court.
Around 2:40 p.m., deputies responded to a trespassing incident at a residence in the 3800 block of North Araby Road. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the reporting party. The reporting party said that when he arrived to work on the residence that he located Short and Lopez living at the residence. The reporting party further said that no one had permission to be on the property. The reporting party advised that he told Short and Lopez to leave. Deputies contacted the owner and confirmed the reporting party’s statements.
Deputies contacted Short and Lopez outside of a residence in the 3200 block of Aztec Road. During conversations with Short, he said that he had permission to stay at the residence. Short was taken into custody without incident. A records check showed Lopez to have an active warrant. Lopez was taken into custody without incident. They were transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
