MV Fatal FireArizona authorities say a fire late Friday night in Mohave Valley claimed the lives of two people. It took place 10 minutes before midnight at a mobile home in the 10000 Block of Driftwood Cir.

Firefighters with the Mohave Valley Fire Department were dispatched to the fire at 11:50 p.m., along with additional with the Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Department. More help was provided by the San Bernardino County Fire Department in Needles.

Mohave Valley Fire Department Battalion Chief Don Gibson said, initial reports from those first on the scene indicated the mobile home was fully engulfed in fire. That prompted firefighters to take a defensive posture while attacking the flames. It was during their firefighting effort that crews found the two victims.  There was one male and one female.

Gibson said the male victim has been identified, but authorities have not released his name, pending notification of next of kin. The female victim has not been identified.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
