SBSO (1)Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries in Needles over the weekend. The 14-year old girls, whose names cannot be released due to their age, were arrested on Monday after San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies located stolen merchandise in the garage of the home the girls share. Investigators were first called to the area of Bazabooth St and Palm Way Saturday for a parked vehicle that had its windows smashed out with a cinder-block. A neighbor in the area told deputies that they saw three female juveniles running from the vandalized vehicle the previous night. On Sunday, the owner of the vehicle returned home and found that his house had also been ransacked. His flat screen television, a duffle bag that contained miscellaneous items, and a DJ kit were stolen from the residence. According to a sheriff’s department spokesman, the value of the merchandise totaled approximately $2,100. Another neighbor told investigators that he recognized two of the girls who vandalized the cars as two 14 year olds who live near the victim’s home. The following day, deputies made contact with the two teenagers and their parents at their residence. The deputies asked and received consent to search the home for the stolen items.  Deputies indicated that the located the victim’s property hidden inside the garage. The stolen property was returned to the victim.  The two juveniles were arrested for residential burglary, possession of stolen property and vandalism. Both were released to their parents pending arraignment in San Bernardino County Superior Court in Victorville, Calif. Investigators were able to link the juveniles to several other car vandalisms that were occurring within that particular neighborhood in Needles over the past several nights.  Anyone with additional information regarding this investigation is urged to contact the Sheriff’s office Colorado River Station at (760) 326-9200.
