The Arizona Corporation Commission will hold a Special Open Meeting on Monday July 18th at 10:00 a.m. to review Arizona Public Service Company (APS), Tucson Electric Power (TEP), and UNS Energy’s preliminary resource plans.
Every two years, the Commission’s Integrated Resource Planning Rules require load-serving entities to file a 15 year-plan for how they will fulfill the energy needs of their customers. Load-serving entities bound by this rule are defined as public service corporations that provide electricity generation service with a capacity of at least 50 megawatts.
The companies must demonstrate how they will meet requirements in a cost-effective, efficient, and responsible manner and show how they will comply with the state’s renewable energy and energy efficiency standards. The Commission requires these reports as a way to ensure safe and reliable service to the public.
The companies will present their preliminary plans and respond to questions by staff and Commissioners. There will be an opportunity for public comment. The meeting will take place at 1200 W. Washington Phoenix, AZ in Hearing Room One. It will be live-streamed at http://www.azcc.gov/divisions/broadcastservices/livebroadcast.htm. No votes will be taken at this meeting.
