drops a tenth of a point for February as the Arizona Department of Administration
reports a jobless rate of 6.5% as we gained 29,600 non-farm jobs over the month
for a total yearly gain of 71,500.  Though
the national jobless rate fell by twice as much and is 1% lower that Arizona’s,
State Economist Aruna Murthy remains “cautiously optimistic”.

Over the month, Murthy says Government was
the largest growing sector in February, adding almost 16,000 jobs and Trade, Transportation
and Utilities (TTU) was the hardest hit with a less-than-expected 500 jobs
