Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Andrew Allen Adams, 22, of Mohave Valley, early Saturday (2/28) evening for unlawful flight from law enforcement, a felony. Deputies observed a red GMC pick-up truck traveling 45 miles per hour in a posted 35 mph zone in the 2200 block of Joy Lane. At about 5:25 p.m., deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop as the vehicle turned onto Antelope Drive, but the vehicle continued traveling. Deputies discontinued their traffic stop as the driver accelerated the vehicle and drove into the desert. Shortly thereafter, deputies were flagged down by a citizen in the area of Joy Lane and Antelope Drive. The citizen pointed behind them where a wash runs parallel and south of Joy Lane. Deputies observed the vehicle traveling in the wash approximately 10 miles per hour. Deputies responded and pulled behind the vehicle in the wash and conducted a high risk traffic stop. Deputies ordered the driver to exit the vehicle with his hands up. The male driver, later identified as Adams, exited the vehicle. Adams was taken into custody without further incident. During conversations with Adams, he said that he was having a bad day. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
