Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Joshua Michael Blais, 31, of Mohave Valley, early Wednesday (2/11) evening for unlawful flight from law enforcement and criminal trespassing, felonies. Approximately 4:45 p.m., deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a quad in the 1700 block of Jerome Avenue, but the quad continued traveling without stopping. Deputies observed the quad drive south into the desert where the quad got stuck. As deputies approached, they observed the operator started running south. A short time later, a Search and Rescue Volunteer detained the suspect. Deputies responded to their location and took custody of the suspect identified as Blais. Blais complained of rib pain. Medical responded and transported Blais to Valley View Medical Center where he was treated. The SAR member advised that he was listening to the scanner when he heard a foot chase for the suspect in his neighborhood. The SAR member reported that he observed Blais jumping fences and Blais ran out of a residence in the 7000 block of Calle Del Media. Deputies contacted the homeowner. The homeowner said that he does not know Blais and he did not give him permission to enter his residence. Deputies responded to Valley View Medical Center and took Blais into custody after he was medically released. Blais was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without further incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
