Michael R GriffithMohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael R Griffith, 42, of Chloride, Tuesday (6/2) morning for unlawful imprisonment per domestic violence and child abuse per domestic violence, felonies.  Approximately 3:15 a.m., deputies responded to domestic violence incident at a residence in the 9800 block of Second Street.  Dispatch advised that the reporting party said that Griffith, her boyfriend, locked himself in the bathroom with their 6-year-old daughter.  Dispatch further advised that Griffith was breaking things in the bathroom and their daughter was screaming.  Upon arrival, deputies contacted the reporting party and she said that Griffith was acting very strange.  Deputies checked the bathroom door which was locked.  Deputies heard a male subject’s voice inside the bathroom saying something and also heard a female voice whimpering inside the bathroom.  Deputies made announcements for Griffith to open the bathroom door without success.  As deputies made entry into the bathroom, the victim ran out to her mother.  Griffith was taken into custody without incident.  The reporting party reported that she told Griffith numerous times to let their daughter out of the bathroom, but he didn’t.  The reporting party further reported that recently Griffith has had split second mood swings.  Deputies contacted the victim.  The victim said that Griffith was not hurting her but he was yelling at her while her mom was outside of the bathroom telling Griffith to let her out.  Deputies contacted Griffith in the patrol car.  Deputies observed Griffith did not make sense as one second he was singing and the next second he would yell loudly.  Griffith was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center.  At about 10:00 a.m., Griffith was medically cleared.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
