The Seventh Annual Route 66 Scholarship Dinner and Auction is just around the corner! It will be held on Saturday, April 30th during the Fun Run event in Kingman.
The dinner, sponsored by the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona, will take place at the newly remodeled Beale Street Celebrations, 201 North Fourth Street, with cocktails starting at 5:30pm and dinner catered by Chef Michael Gaul starting at 6:30pm. The menu includes an old-fashioned country BBQ with pulled pork, chicken, ranch beans, a variety of great salads and desert.
This fabulous event, featuring fantastic food, music provided by “The Aces” and awesome auction items, is a fundraising event to provide scholarships for students at Mohave Community College. Over 110 students have been helped with their education expenses through this dinner in the past and many more will be helped this year due to the event. These scholarships are changing lives.
Numerous businesses and individuals have made donations, both financial and auction items for the event. Gregg Arnold, local artist, has created a beautiful sculpture for the auction using materials donated by Tom Spear and Nucor Steel (see photos). In addition, Tapestry Route 66 Travel Bags filled with a variety of items valued at over $150 will be sold for $50 to the first 24 buyers.
Tickets for this fun-filled night are only $35 a person and can be purchased by calling the Route 66 Gift Shop at 753-5001.
