Bullhead City Manager Toby Cotter said ordinance spells out the process for filling a vacant city council seat. He said a nomination committee will be established to review materials submitted by those who will apply for possible appointment to serve out the Council term of the late Mickey McClure.
Cotter said each Council member will pick one person, and the Mayor gets to pick two people to serve on the committee. Approving the committee as well as the form that Council applicants will complete is expected at the March 1 Council meeting.
Interested and eligible residents will be able to acquire the Council application form from the City Website or at the City Clerk’s Office. Submitted applications will be reviewed and ranked by the Committee.
The Council will review the rankings and application materials in preparation for a possible appointment decision at the April 5 Council meeting. The appointee will serve into November, 2018.
