On November 8, 2016, from 11am-12pm, Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) Hospice will host an informative lecture about the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Medical Foster Home Program. The discussion will take place at KRMC’s Joan and Diana Hospice Home, located at 812 Airway Ave., in Kingman.
The Medical Foster Home Program aims to provide in-home care for older veterans who cannot remain in their own homes, but prefer not to live in nursing homes. The program places these veterans with homeowners willing to act as caregivers.
Cynthia Treichel, Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with the Department of Veterans Affairs will give details of the program, including who can qualify for care, who can become a VA Medical Foster Home provider, and how the program complements VA Home Based Care services.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Cecelia Clouser with the Joan and Diana Hospice Home at 928-692-8710.
