Police are on the lookout for a violent armed robbery suspect.  Sergeant Jaime Rothschild with Silent Witness says the suspect walked into a convenience store last week in north Phoenix and pretended to buy cigarettes when he suddenly pulled out a gun and pistol-whipped the clerk and demanded she empty the register.  The

woman was beat to the ground but managed to get up and run from the store.  The suspect ran after her and never returned to the store for the cash.  The woman got away and called for help.  The suspect is a Black man, mid 20’s, about five-ten, 170 pounds.  Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
