The Corporation Commission will hold a public comment meeting in Parker, Arizona Thursday, November 3rd, to hear from customers of Brooke Water Company LLC after an outage and complaints about the company’s communications, service, and billing.
In August, Brooke Water Company customers experienced a nearly three-day outage during triple-digit summer temperatures.
Commissioners and Staff, along with other county and state officials had problems contacting the owner during that outage for updates. The lack of communication prompted the Commission to hold a special Staff Meeting in September where they took comment from the public and directed Utility Staff to do an evaluation of the company’s equipment and operations.
Brooke Water operates six water systems and provides services to nearly 2,000 customers in La Paz County. The outage was caused by a valve failure in the company’s largest system which caused hundreds of customers to lose service.
The public comment meeting begins at 6 p.m. November 3rd at the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office at 8484 Riverside Drive, in Parker, Arizona. Commission Staff will be at the meeting and will make themselves available to meet one-on-one with residents.
