The Western Pyrotechnic Association Winter Blast 2015 will begin Thursday, February 12, 2015. The four-day event, held at the Havasu 95 Speedway track at S.A.R.A. Park, located off State Route 95, will showcase some of the latest and most spectacular fireworks the pyrotechnic industry has to offer. Fireworks will begin Thursday with an open shoot and continue through Sunday evening. The Grand Public Displays are scheduled for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings beginning at 7:30 pm. Those wishing to attend may enter S.A.R.A. Park off State Route 95 at Dub Campbell Parkway. There is a $5.00 per vehicle parking fee from Thursday through Sunday at the Havasu 95 Speedway and ball field parking lots, and a separate $5.00 per person admittance fee for those entering the Havasu 95 Speedway spectator area. Children 5 years of age and under will be admitted at no charge. Daily parking admission tickets are available for sale starting at 3:00 p.m. at both park entrances. Parking admission tickets will be accepted at all public parking areas within the park, with the exception of the Fair Grounds. Park gates open at 3:00 pm. RV parking/camping will only be allowed at the fairground. There will also be parking at the BMX track. No parking will be permitted along the shoulders of State Route 95. 928 MX Promotions, Inc. will be hosting “The Ball Field Pyro Party” each day of Winter Blast from 3:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. “Hub of the Fireworks Action” will take place on the softball fields at S.A.R.A. Park. Event will have a beer and wine garden, food vendors, entertainment, bounce house, kid’s activities and more. Bring your own chairs and please leave coolers at home. Prices: Adults $3.00, children ages 6-12 $2.00 and 5 years of age and under are free. Absolutely no consumer fireworks will be allowed within the park or parking lot. No food or coolers will be allowed in the event area, but are permitted at the BMX track and parking lots. For the consideration and safety of our K9 friends, the S.A.R.A. Dylan Dog Park will be closed during Winter Blast beginning February 12, and continuing through February 15. Residents and visitors are encouraged to use the Lion’s Dog Park located at 1340 McCulloch Boulevard or the Avalon Dog Park located at 1294 Avalon Avenue during this time.
