The Willow Fire that burned about 6,000 acres in Mohave Valley is 100% contained. Mohave Valley Fire Marshal Dan Gibson said that doesn’t mean the fire is out, but that officials are comfortable it will remain contained within its current boundary.
Gibson and others briefed Mohave County Supervisors, during their Monday Board meeting, providing details how the wildfire was handled after it started August 8.
Gibson said the fire destroyed or damaged eleven homes, as well as seven travel trailers being used as residences. Gibson said firefighters will be patrolling the fire mopping up hot spots for another couple of weeks.
