Gusting wind conditions spread fire from one property to another in north Kingman early Monday afternoon, March 28. Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District (NACFD) personnel responded at 12:45 p.m. to the residential structure fire in the 4200 block of Roosevelt Avenue.
Fire Chief Pat Moore said the home where the fire started was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived on scene.
“A large shed on the adjacent property located just north was also on fire and spreading to the adjacent house,” Moore said. “The fire was spreading rapidly due to extreme wind speeds.”
Moore said UniSource Energy responded as well to deal with utility meters and downed power lines. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Moore said the home where the fire started was destroyed. He said the shed was extensively damaged and that the adjacent home was damaged by extreme radiant heat.
