The city of Kingman is reviewing plans for a proposed commercial development that would include a new restaurant. The project would be situated on 1.26-acres south of Anderson Ford on Stockton Hill Road.

City officials said the proposed development involves a 5,000 sq. ft. restaurant and additional retail spaces totaling 1,400 and 1,600 sq. ft. The proposed restaurant is a Native Grill and Wings, an eatery that was formerly known as the Native New Yorker before company rebranding in 2014.

“We’re known for our chicken wings. We’ve won awards for our wings over the years so that’s definitely our #1 item,” said Cynthia Velasco, marketing manager for the corporate office in Tempe. She said the company currently has 30 restaurants located in four states.

Velasco identified the franchisee as Brad Williams. The timetable for the development is unclear.
